Haptic Handsaw Simulator
Haptic Handsaw Simulator
Built a force-feedback device that recreates the physical sensation of sawing through wood, plastic, and metal using motors, encoders, and a stepper-controlled depth stop. Paired with a real-time dual-viewport virtual environment in Processing, the system lets users feel the difference between materials without touching a single real piece of stock. Developed in a team as a final project for MAE 219 (Design and Control of Haptic Systems) at UC San Diego.
